The people here are very giving and it is customary to give people sugar or milk or some kind of fruit when you go to their house. Another custom is to just randomly give people things out of pure kindness. Well, one of our friends in town found out just how giving people can be when someone gave him a rooster. Yep, a rooster. The kids named it Ernie and Blake gave it the rank of Colonel, because he is pretty regal. Well, a couple of weeks later, the same family gave them a chicken. So, now the rooster has a lady friend. He is very protective of her and now they have some eggs and he actually spends time on the eggs at night. It is very strange and humorous!
