So, I thought maybe some of ya'll might want to know what's going on with our new little baby. So far, so good! I'm now 14 weeks along and starting to show. We had our first doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I was a little nervous because I had no idea what to expect. Our appointment was for 11 am, and the doc strolled in the office about 11:15. He only speaks French and Arabic and we only speak Engligh and shwee-a (a little) Arabic, so we had a translator with us. The doc was super friendly and extrememly patient with us - two great qualities. I had two pages of questions written out, and I think he thought I was a little...American, maybe? Apparently, over here, patients don't ask questions...they do just what the doctor says. Luckily, this doctor has had a few American patients before, so I think he's used to all the questions.
Things are a little different than back home. A.) There's no nurse...the doctor does everything: blood pressure, ultrasound, etc. B.) They don't do a lot of the lab work and as extensive an exam as we're used to. and C.) They don't give you your ultrasound pictures to take home (I'm going to ask specifically for one next time)...But overall, we felt confident and comfortable with him.
We had an ultrasound - this might be one of my favorite inventions ever! It was so amazing. Our babe actually looks like a BABY now! We saw the big, giant head, the arms, legs, spine...and everything looked and measured perfectly! No sign yet if it's a boy or girl...rats. I'm so impatient! But hopefully we will be able to tell next month!
You better believe I'll post it as soon as we find out!!!

Bradyn,
Just wanted to let you know that we are so excited for you and your little growing baby! Thanks for the update. We continue to lift you up to Father. Hey, did you hear that so far I have delivered 2 babies! I also did a circumcision on my own this week...so just in case you're having a boy, I know what to do, lol. I also got to be 1st assist in a tubal ligation this week which was cool. Any way, you are the only one that would be interested in my medical adventures. :) I miss you and the rest of the gang so much! Give Emmy a squeeze for me!
Love, Kate
