This One's For The Teachers...

Now, I cannot presume to understand what any teachers endure in their workplaces on any given day. I substitute taught when I was in college which confirmed my decision to never be a teacher if I can help it. I think people who are called to teach are extremely gifted and patient (which is not a quality of mine) and I admire what they do. So kudos to you if you invest so much time and effort to growing young minds. It is a necessary and important task. I wanted to show some of the kids we see playing every week when we go to teach our health class. First, because they are stinkin' cute! And second, just to give props to the teachers here. We visited a school last week where each teacher had 40 kids in his class. In a VERY small classroom. The teachers here teach their kids the dialect of Arabic here, classical Arabic, and sometimes French with very sparse resources. Kudos to them!
It is not unusual to meet a farmer out in the middle of the mountains who knows four languages. It is incredible. And it makes you feel silly when you're stumbling over just one of the four languages they speak!
