ALL HAIL THE SPACE INVADERS
We live in an eight story apartment complex yet I have found that it still feels like a neighborhood in a sense. Everyone seems to know each other and are friendly and stop just to talk and catch up. Something that seems to stand out to me is that every night the kids come out to play keep away with a soccer ball. They play on the sidewalk right in front of our building. People walking bye on their way somewhere else will often stop to play one round to test and show off their skills at kicking a soccerball. It still shocks me though how late they will play. Often until 11:00 0r later. Because it gets so hot during the day here they will usually come out and play when it's dark and not so hot. Another interesting thing about our apartment is that it overlooks the city soccer stadium. Carol and I just finished watching a game. They were all screaming and chanting the entire time. The home team won in the end. But the funny apart was the post game celebration. The winning team stripped down to their underwear so that they could throw their jersey's and shorts to the fans in the bleachers. And to top it off they lead a big victory parade through the streets, chanting all the way. They were holding a big banner that to Carol and I appeared to be a space invader. So ALL HAIL THE SPACE INVADERS on their recent victory. My only regret is that Carol's parents are coming this Thursday with our new camera and so we have no pictures to prove this actually happened.

My imagination is filling in the blank spot where the picture would have been. Have you stopped to show off your mad soccer skills yet?
