The Cannon

There is a cannon that goes off very near our apartment every night around 7 PM to let people know that they can break the fast. It's pretty loud, but it's not too bad. Until 4 AM when it goes off again to let people know that the fast is beginning. It's a nice interruption to a good night's sleep and it usually scares me to death. It was really depressing on Saturday night when we heard the cannon go off and we were still awake!
