Come On, Grandma!

One of the things that women here enjoy doing is henna. Basically, the mix a powder made from a plant with water (or tea in the village) mixed in to make a paste. I was hanging out with some ladies in the village and they wanted to do henna for me. They were already doing it for themselves, which was basically just coating their palms and hte bottoms of their feet with it and dying their skin. I figured that's what they were doing and I agreed, but they wanted to make it pretty. So the grandma of the family (who is hilarious!) grabbed my hands and did her best to make a pretty design. My left hand is the result of that. While I thought it was precious, the other ladies could not stop laughing at her and ended up calling a neighbor to come do my right hand (which you can't see very well, but is a very pretty flower design). Grandma kept asking me if I thought it was zwina (pretty) and I told her malum (of course)! I enjoyed watching them get a kick out of her.
