Why Didn't I Have My Camera?

On Wednesday afternoons, Bradyn and I have taken on the fun task of teaching health lessons in a town translated in English as "Bride Spring". It is a small town, just 10 minutes outside of our city. We teach the lessons at a preschool and then afterwards have tea and cookies with the teachers and any women that want to hang around.

Well, today was a special day. Apparently, some of the kids had won a sports competition and were thrown a party in their honor. This included a program, which occurred right in the middle of the health lessons. They wanted us to see and since the women in our class were moms of the kids, we took a break and went outside to watch.

There was singing and there was a drama. I was very impressed with the kids that did the skit, even though they were talking so fast I didn't understand what they were saying. I think they were making fun of the Americans with funny accents, but I can't be sure! It was one of those moments where I completely regretted not lugging our big camera around. They were in full costume, including one boy in a fake beard and a girl with a long, fake braid. I think she was supposed to be Dutch. I don't know.

Anyways, the lesson went well. These ladies are smart! We were planning on teaching a lesson on the different food groups today and then a lesson on the importance of planing meals with all the food groups next week. But, they caught on so well, that we did both lessons today, so we need to figure out what we're doing next week!
